Gavin Thomson
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
Gavin graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy which complemented his HND in sports therapy.
Gavin joined Healthsure Physiotherapy in 2015 bringing with him a wealth in NHS experience. During his time at Wishaw General Hospital, Gavin worked within many departments including orthopaedics, stroke, medical, surgical, maternity, outpatients and rheumatology.
In addition to this, Gavin also has a keen interest in sports injuries. Past experience includes Rangers Football club where he successfully delivered clinics for injured players and touch side physio for match days. Gavin continues to work in this industry which ensures he is up to date with the latest treatment techniques and technologies used for sports injuries.
Since graduating, Gavin has consistently strived to educate himself with the best, evidence based practices for his profession. His skill set and knowledge base is topped up with regular CPD and postgraduate courses. One course which he’s really excited about is his Pilates instructor course, due for completion early 2017.
Craig McHugh
(Physiotherapist / Clinical Director)
Craig graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BSc (hons) in physiotherapy following on from his successful completion of the HND in Sports Therapy at Glasgow College of Commerce.
Craig Formed Healthsure Physiotherapy in 2014 with the intention of delivering a quality service with customer care and service at the forefront.
Since this time he has successfully launched 4 clinics in Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, Hamilton and Glasgow.
Upon graduation Craig gained invaluable experience working for the NHS, covering many different departments within the hospital and community setting. After leaving the NHS Craig specialised in his chosen field of MSK/ out-patient’s in the private sector. Working for other clinics was a great learning curve for Craig which enabled him to deliver government contracts and manage occupational health Physiotherapy for large organisations.
Another area in which Craig has gained experience is within the sports industry. He has been involved with various sports clubs and teams over the years offering injury rehabilitation clinics and pitch-side first aid. One of the clubs which Craig spent a period of time at was Motherwell Football Club.
Craig has undertaken many postgraduate courses to enable him to deliver the type of customer care he set out too from the beginning. Some of the courses which have had the most impact on his treatment methods include acupuncture, spinal manipulation and soft tissue mobilisation. Craig also recently completed a facial rejuvenation acupuncture course so watch this space for clinic times.
Stuart Livingstone
Sports Masseuse
Stuart qualified as a sports therapist from City of Glasgow College in 2015, specialising in sport and remedial massage. In addition to this, Stuart is also a qualified gym instructor and personal trainer which ensures that he is not only able to provide first class sports massage, but he can also rehabilitate a wide array of sporting injuries.
Stuart is extremely passionate about sport and this is highlighted throughout his CV. He has provided rehab clinics and touch-line first aid at various professional football clubs within the SPFL and through the junior ranks.
Having worked within the top level in football with a varied mix of athletes, Stuart is extremely well equipped to access and rehabilitate a wide range of sports injuries at Healthsure Physiotherapy.
